I Hate FairyLand (Book 10)

Remember book reports when we were in school? For some they were a dreaded terrible thing, for others they were fun ways to recall your favorite book and an easy format to tell someone what the book was about. I've decided to post some reports of books I've read recently; let's jump right in.

My oldest child gifted me this book during the holiday season. This child of mine has into been into graphic novels since their teenage years. The interest slowly crept upon me & I found myself enjoying them as well.  Almost every time a chapter in this book ended, I felt it should be over. Now, I knew it wasn't because I'm sitting here looking at over 100 pages left! I had to continue to read for the simple fact that I had to find out where they were going to go from a particular point & how they were going to set it off. The Authors did not fail to keep an exciting colorful intense pace.

Author:  Skottie Young

Title:  I Hate FairyLand the whole Fluffing Tale

Main Characters:  Gertrude & her trusty sidekick Larry

Setting: FairyLand where everything cute & crazy ever existed

Plot:  Gertrude is a 28 year old woman trapped in a child's body in FairyLand. The only way to get home is to follow the insane quest along with her guide, to find the key that will take her home. This girl is wild, she decides to do things her way instead of taking some of the advice given. The reader is left to wonder will she make it home?

Personal Endorsement:  I know every time this particular child of mine gives me something to read it's finna be good. This one was hair raisingly  fun. I enjoyed the artwork & all of the colors. On some level I identified with Gertrude's anger but also understood & saw where it would've been helpful for her to calm down a bit, maybe take a breath. I will give this book a 10 & I would recommend you read it if graphic novels are your thang!

A Recovery Love Story

Thank you Cliff for allowing me to write the love story of you & your Beautiful wife! I found this just tear jerking ❤️        There was a time in my life when my one true love was wine and spirits. I mean I knew drinking wasn't good for me & I played around with the thought of stopping every once in a while, but never enough for anything to stick. I wasn't the AA type of guy, I didn't feel the need to express my problems with a group of people. I didn't think that would be my route to recovery if I ever decided to stop. What I didn't know was that I was right. One day I was driving, on my way to take myself fishing. I had a 12 pack of Bud Light in my ice chest in the trunk. As I was driving I couldn't wait to pop a can open & feel that cold refreshing taste.      As I drove I passed a church tent revival. I slowed down for no particular reason & laughed to myself. I guess I caught them in a moment. Watching them as they were run...

Finding Self PT 10 (Watch Me Flow)

After the injury everything changed. Being laid up like that with no help. I had to hobble to the market only to be ran over by crowds of people that I couldn't keep up with. Being left by the Lyft because the driver couldn't figure out how to come around the corner. Just feeling helpless, abandoned and stranded. Feelings like this will put things in a different perspective really fast. Some people out there have major support and people around to help when things get tough and some people simply just don't. For me I'm one of the one's that don't but I find that strangers are always kinder to me than my own family who is by society's standards supposed to be our first safety net & supporters.       N-E-how being laid up like that and alone I had more uninterrupted time to think than I ever did in my life. Self reflection questions that I never even thought of started to pop into my mind. The first one was career wise. The question was ...
