These are lines that stuck out to me when reading a book called Wild Mind, Living the writers life. By, Natalie Goldberg.
- Life is not orderly, no matter how we try 2 make life so. Right in the middle of it we die, lose a leg, fall in love or drop a jar of apple sauce. (Don't I know it to be true)
- What brings you back to a natural state of mind? The wildness of your mind where there is no refined rows of gladiolas. The mind is raw, full of energy, alive & hungry. It does not think in the way we were brought up to think-well mannered, congenial. (Think about ur mind, is it wild? The thing that brings me back to a natural state of mind always seems to be music or writing out my feelings.)
- Being a writer is a whole way of life, a way of seeing, thinking, being. It's the passing on of a lineage. Writers hand on what they know. (We definitely hand on what we know to our readers & yes writing is something a writer just does.)
- When you take care of something it lives a long time. (Agree or disagree?)
- We don't see how a writer organizes her day or dreams up writing ideas. (Yes even being the writer sometimes ideas come out of nowhere!)
