The Realtor (LA Story)

Hubby and I were surfing the internet looking for apartments when we signed up on an apartment website, the crazy thing is I'm not sure which site we joined because all of them want you to join, that lead us to this amazing realtor. She was like a case manager!

Upon leaving Philadelphia my son said that he wouldn't come but would keep the apartment until we decided to come back. Life happened & my son loss the apartment. I'm not angry or disappointed in him, if you knew the story you'd agree it wasn't his fault. That left us in a rather interesting situation we were now homeless, if we went back & I didn't want to go back, we were making more money out here but trying to save a security deposit while paying $2500.00 a month for AirBnB's & hotels was absolutely insane.

We've been in Cali a year & a half and this housing situation was becoming very mentally draining at least for me. I looked at our finances & hopped on the internet, we were doing considerably better than we were when we first arrived so I figured we mind as well get an apartment. We met this latino realtor she was & is such a blessing. She doesn't get paid unless we get into a home. She gave me life because she was on it, calling, texting and setting appointments for viewings. We work overnight so we needed to be in bed by 2pm to get enough rest for the coming night. For two weeks our days went as follows; come in at 8am meet the realtor at 10am view an apartment be back by 1pm. When she realized we didn't have a car she came picked us up, even took us to run some errands, or print out pay stubs, make copies, I mean she helped us do all we needed. She even suggested that she would talk to her husband about renting us their extra room so that we could save more and continue to work on our credit for the next 6 months.

That didn't happen, not that I thought is was, I mean we were struggling strangers😂 but I appreciated the idea, she is extremely sweet. We ended up having to go into our savings for a couple different reasons, which dwindled the security deposit funds & we also found out our credit wasn't as high as we thought. We have a little ways to go but will continue to need housing in the meantime, I mean who doesn't! We're good in the expensive ass AirBnB we're in for now. The support of the realtor took a ton of stress off of me & my husband said she removed three wrinkles off my forehead! If your in Cali and your looking for housing I suggest you hit up this company & get some stress off your spirit as you endure this weird housing market set up.

A Recovery Love Story

Thank you Cliff for allowing me to write the love story of you & your Beautiful wife! I found this just tear jerking ❤️        There was a time in my life when my one true love was wine and spirits. I mean I knew drinking wasn't good for me & I played around with the thought of stopping every once in a while, but never enough for anything to stick. I wasn't the AA type of guy, I didn't feel the need to express my problems with a group of people. I didn't think that would be my route to recovery if I ever decided to stop. What I didn't know was that I was right. One day I was driving, on my way to take myself fishing. I had a 12 pack of Bud Light in my ice chest in the trunk. As I was driving I couldn't wait to pop a can open & feel that cold refreshing taste.      As I drove I passed a church tent revival. I slowed down for no particular reason & laughed to myself. I guess I caught them in a moment. Watching them as they were run...

Finding Self PT 10 (Watch Me Flow)

After the injury everything changed. Being laid up like that with no help. I had to hobble to the market only to be ran over by crowds of people that I couldn't keep up with. Being left by the Lyft because the driver couldn't figure out how to come around the corner. Just feeling helpless, abandoned and stranded. Feelings like this will put things in a different perspective really fast. Some people out there have major support and people around to help when things get tough and some people simply just don't. For me I'm one of the one's that don't but I find that strangers are always kinder to me than my own family who is by society's standards supposed to be our first safety net & supporters.       N-E-how being laid up like that and alone I had more uninterrupted time to think than I ever did in my life. Self reflection questions that I never even thought of started to pop into my mind. The first one was career wise. The question was ...
