Mary Baker Eddy (Book 2)

Remember book reports when we were in school? For some they were a dreaded terrible thing, for others they were fun ways to recall your favorite book and an easy format to tell someone what the book was about. I've decided to post some reports of my favorite books; let's jump right in.

I picked up this book in one of those lil cute outside free libraries in Brentwood, CA. I was drawn to the title. I had no idea that the story was going to be so relatable & such an inspiration!

Author: Julia Michael Johnston

Title: Mary Baker Eddy: Her Mission & Triumph

Main Characters: This story was mostly narration by the author, it brought Mary Baker to light. ( I was trying to make that sound good🤦🏾‍♀️ truth is; it's been a minute since I read this book I do not remember the characters 😯

Setting: The years 1821 to 1919 mostly in New England

Plot: This story was about a woman who put her mission from God above all else in her life & how she went up against the odds and persevered.

Personal Endorsement: I was completely uplifted by this book. Understanding how a person can show such resilience continues to encourage me to push forward in my life. I related to Mary in many different ways and her story gave me strength & hope. I read it at a time I needed it the most, I used it as a self help book. Here is one of my favorite lines.

Instead of being adversely affected by surroundings, she was able in a measure to permeate the atmosphere wherein she moved with maintained purity of thought and life. Self-distrust, hesitancy, and sensitiveness were overcome

Finding Self PT 10 (Watch Me Flow)

After the injury everything changed. Being laid up like that with no help. I had to hobble to the market only to be ran over by crowds of people that I couldn't keep up with. Being left by the Lyft because the driver couldn't figure out how to come around the corner. Just feeling helpless, abandoned and stranded. Feelings like this will put things in a different perspective really fast. Some people out there have major support and people around to help when things get tough and some people simply just don't. For me I'm one of the one's that don't but I find that strangers are always kinder to me than my own family who is by society's standards supposed to be our first safety net & supporters.       N-E-how being laid up like that and alone I had more uninterrupted time to think than I ever did in my life. Self reflection questions that I never even thought of started to pop into my mind. The first one was career wise. The question was ...

A Fabulous Personal Home Assistant

Being a Personal Home Assistant is more than just a job to me. It's a peaceful and satisfying experience that I look forward to with each appointment booked. When I walk into a client's home, I take pride in knowing that I'm not just cleaning their space, but also making their lives comfortable & more enjoyable.      There's something about the feeling of a clean home that just makes everything better. And when my clients are happy with my work, it makes me happy too! It's a sense of accomplishment that one can't quite describe.     I know that some people might think that being a cleaning person is a menial job, but I see it as so much more than that. It's about taking care of people's homes & when you do it with professionalism as well as confidence, it becomes something truly special.      My clients trust me with their homes & their belongings; I take that responsibility seriously. It's not just about cle...
