Life is Resume Building ( Part IV)

(were still in Philadelphia with the jobs)

I had 2 Grassroots jobs that didn't last longer than a day or two. One of them consisted of getting people to donate to help stop bullying. We would meet downtown and a van would take a team to Prinston NJ to ask for the donations. I quit because I figured my organization could do this for ourselves. Turns out I was right more on that stuff later. My cousin and I were also door knockers that tried to get people to switch their electric company to a "better more earth friendly solution".  I quit this job because my co-workers were ghetto as hell. They smoked weed on the job like literally between door knocks, ok I was a pot head too but damn! They also fought people at their door when things got out of hand with a potential customer. The supervisors were horrible & my cousin gave the same kind of report from the team he was on. Nope that kind of atmosphere wasn't for us we were out!

The year I turned 28 the job situation changed for me, it became much more serious. In the past I never kept a job longer than 6 months. This time it would be different, I started woking at Boston Market, it's a fast food good food restaurant. In three months I became a shift manager the story behind that was wild. I could give it it's own post. That job was fun and ratchet, I kept it for two years then had one of my famous mental health episodes and ended up quitting when I should've just taken a leave. A lot of things were going on with me emotionally in my personal life back then & the job just became too much as well.

This is where I went into a 2yr depression, which is a whole nother post in itself too 🤦🏾‍♀️ Out of the depression however; came a outstanding Certified Peer Specialist. I was lead to this career from a training I attended with the support of my favorite pastor & his wife. I kept that Job/career for 7yrs and it was the best one I've had so far & I was amazing at it. I quit during the pandemic, again a lot of things were going on with me emotionally and personally. That's also when I moved to Southern California the story on that is in this blog.

In the next all my Jobs post I'm going to tell you about the jobs I had on the Carnival!

A Recovery Love Story

Thank you Cliff for allowing me to write the love story of you & your Beautiful wife! I found this just tear jerking ❤️        There was a time in my life when my one true love was wine and spirits. I mean I knew drinking wasn't good for me & I played around with the thought of stopping every once in a while, but never enough for anything to stick. I wasn't the AA type of guy, I didn't feel the need to express my problems with a group of people. I didn't think that would be my route to recovery if I ever decided to stop. What I didn't know was that I was right. One day I was driving, on my way to take myself fishing. I had a 12 pack of Bud Light in my ice chest in the trunk. As I was driving I couldn't wait to pop a can open & feel that cold refreshing taste.      As I drove I passed a church tent revival. I slowed down for no particular reason & laughed to myself. I guess I caught them in a moment. Watching them as they were run...

Cilla Lee-Jenkins Book 12

Remember book reports when we were in school? For some they were a dreaded terrible thing, for others they were fun ways to recall your favorite book and an easy format to tell someone what the book was about. I've decided to post some reports of books I've read recently; let's jump right in.       This book was given to me as an inspiration gift because it was noticed that I enjoy writing and reading very much. At work during down time I would write short stories and I even wrote the love story of one of my married co-workers on this blog. Matter fact the person that gave me the book! You can read his story here it's called A Recovery Love Story .  Author:   Susan Tan/ Illustrated by, Dana Wulfekotte Title:    Cilla Lee - Jenkins The Epic Story Main Characters:     Cilla Lee-Jenkins, Gwendolyn Lee-Jenkins, Essie Lee-Jenkins, Ye Ye, Nai Nai, Grandma Jenkins, Grandpa Jenkins, Mom & Dad Setting:   This story mostly takes place b...
