Mr. Gonzalez's 7th Grade Class

Mr. Gonzalez gave an end of the year creative writing assignment to his 7th grade class. Each student was to come up with their own story and put it in book form. Turn's out he has a bunch of creative minds in his class. I took the time out to read a few. In some the hand writing was so small I had to pass, my eyes were not picking up what I was seeing. The few I did read were really fun.  Here are some of my reviews CAPTAIN BUCKET HEAD  favorite line was: We were tied up in the back of the carriage. There weren't any couches (sadly) so my rear was learning the worst qualities of a wooden board! This story took me on a wild ride in an imaginary world, great job! The great Pollution, Recycler & Smoke clearer (P.R.A.S.C) This story had a fun opening and knowing that the author is 12yrs old tickled me. That first line said: Frank Wright, a well built man in his mid fourties... This story took me on a corporate journey about a machi...

Cilla Lee-Jenkins Book 12

Remember book reports when we were in school? For some they were a dreaded terrible thing, for others they were fun ways to recall your favorite book and an easy format to tell someone what the book was about. I've decided to post some reports of books I've read recently; let's jump right in.       This book was given to me as an inspiration gift because it was noticed that I enjoy writing and reading very much. At work during down time I would write short stories and I even wrote the love story of one of my married co-workers on this blog. Matter fact the person that gave me the book! You can read his story here it's called A Recovery Love Story .  Author:   Susan Tan/ Illustrated by, Dana Wulfekotte Title:    Cilla Lee - Jenkins The Epic Story Main Characters:     Cilla Lee-Jenkins, Gwendolyn Lee-Jenkins, Essie Lee-Jenkins, Ye Ye, Nai Nai, Grandma Jenkins, Grandpa Jenkins, Mom & Dad Setting:   This story mostly takes place b...

Finding Self (Part 7)

It took me extra long to write this I left Pineville Louisiana almost a month ago. I never thought I would be in a place that I couldn't survive on my own without a car. I actually wanted to stay, southern hospitality is real. I didn't want to have to depend on everyone having to take me everywhere I needed to go if I didn't want to spend a ton of Lyft money. I also felt as tho that would make me a burden & a charity case. Maybe that's not how everyone else felt but that's how I felt. I also only had 2months with my host family and she extended it to 3months. I had to transition somewhere, I would've been down with staying at her house for a year but she said that she never had anyone stay with her that long before.         Here's the TEA, if your reading this and I told you my host was my aunt on my dad's side that was most def a lie. I didn't want people in my actual business & I also didn't want to talk about it. I'll state ...

It wasn't funny at first...

Thank you Alex Johns for allowing me to share this story. It was hilarious when you told it to me, I just had to share it. We both agreed that it was the kind of funny situation that only found it's comedy years after it happened. As humans we all experience embarrassing moments that we only find ourselves laughing at later and for the most part we never forget them.     Alex is now 20yrs old & this particular situation happened when she was the tinder age of 8yrs old. Today Alex says she can laugh but when it happened funny, wasn't the word to describe it at all! Our elementary school in a city in Louisiana was called JI Barron. We were having a talent show and I was supposed to sing Blank Spaces by Taylor Swift. Let me tell you I was HYPE! I was in my head like I'mma win this talent show, I have that $100 in the bag! I was also excited about my dress, it was so grown up!     It was floral pattern with spaghetti straps, it was ankle length with splits on ...
